Synopsis:

First game of the new year, and Alex kicks it off. He gets off to an amazing start, by saying he wants to take out the lowest 5 reds in the first round, and then actually does it! He then says he wants to hit the low blues in the following round, and does hit the first two before it goes a little wrong. Alex provides some great banter throughout his game, and everything seems to be going really well. The Banker then pitches a low offer of £20,000 near the end which shocks Alex, and he declines it with still some big money available. Then one of the worst crashes for a while hits and destroys the game! To rub things in even more, the Banker makes a final off of 1 dozen eggs.

Alex was a bit stuck-up wasn't he, but I have to admit I did laugh when he pointed out that Noel shouldn't ask the player to cut to the break because he gets payed for it! And when he had that disastrous round at the end, I laughed out loud. Anyway, the opening round was the most amazing part; a 1 in 26334 chance of that happening. And the game proved that it is not the best possible start, because it meant he had an all-blue finish rather than a low red finish.

I thought he was on his way to big money at the that last round and after an amazing start as well. But it's not how you start it's how you finish.

James, not very nice to want bad luck for players. Like I said the low red opening round is ideal because there is a higher probability of knocking out 6 blues in the next two rounds, don't take it LITERALLY that that is the PERFECT round! Also £20,000 was such a crap offer, although I would have dealt at it. Glad he swapped and got £750, better than 50p.

Just before the £20,000 was offered, Alex spoke in cheeky tones to the banker. I am convinced the banker was going to offer more than £20,000 but once Alex had given him cheek, he dramatically reduced the offer to force Alex to carry on. What do others think ?
