It's the start of Love Week today, and everyone is dressed in 60's costumes to tie in with the Love theme for the week. There is also a Love Twist where the player gets a Love necklace which they can give to anyone on the wings, and when they choose to open that persons box the box opener wins a special prize, and after the box is opened the Banker will make an offer as well. Alfonso steps up first in Love week, and gets off to a good start. The offers rise nicely throughout with the Banker worried about the use of the necklace. At the end of the 4th round Alfonso makes a deal without using the necklace which surprises a few. He does however use the necklace in the very next box, and the Banker reveals he would have offered £12,000 after the £100,000 was opened. The final round shows there was a lot more in the game, and to rub things in even more Noel performs a hypothetical swap which goes against Alfonso as well.

For someone who said he would keep going with the quarter million in play just showed everyone he is a big fibber. I can't believe he bailed out at 20k how on earth could u deal with 3 of the power five still there. At least the banker didn't offer any gimmicks, future offers and the last offer was pitched just right 69k would be a fair offer at least it wasn't something like 100k or more cuz that's just nonsense. Also what the hell is Noel and everyone wearing it's 2009 not the 60s, get with the times and wear something better like suits, shirt, ties and shoes.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comI'm getting really sick of these knob stories
xxxxx.as43234.netPlease note that the above comment was a JOKE and was a reference to Alfonso's sob story at the beginning of the show.
xxxxx.as43234.nethow unoriginal could the producers get - didnt they have the so-called 'love necklace' during last years love week?
xx.134.192.113Yes they did. And it really bugs me when Noel says that the necklace 'changes everything'. It's only one extra offer! Still, once this week is over the next special week isn't until Easter, then it's not until May for the most pointless of all - the Banker's Birthday week (they must be desperate if they're stretching a fictional Banker's birthday over a whole week of shows) and then it's the summer specials in June. Then a much needed break, and then an even more gimmick-filled season 5. Just saying it like it is.
xxxxx.as43234.netWhat about the 1000th show and how do we know there's going to be a 5th season as DOND is going down in the ratings and there's no surprises there.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comI have been watching Deal or no Deal since season 1 and I think it is much better now than it has ever been. The special weeks are very good and very interesting. Vive la difference ! If you do not like the show, why not use the 'off' button.
xxxxx.manc.cable.ntl.comYes! Of course. Hiding an average show with a shitload of rubbish gimmicks. This sixties guff was hideously camp.
xxxxx.b-ras2.srl.dublin.eircom.netI think season 1 and 2 are the best and always will be. I still enjoy watching the show but the thing i hate now about DOND is they're doing too many of these special shows each year and the banker is coming up with all new gimmicks each time which spoils the tension and drama that it used to have. Plus contestants have lowered their expectations and always come up with complete sob stories, endemol always look for these people now. I remember 2/3 years ago £30-£40,000 offers were being declined with strong boards in the 3rd/4th rounds nowadays the most he will offer with a decent board is about £20,000. They use to pick all the positive people at the begining which is what this show is all about having the experience of a lifetime and playing the game, your only in the crazy chair once you know. Now everyone is afraid of going home with nothing and loosing their money, as if it was their money in the first place. I'm not saying everyone is like that but more than there use to be. What we need is a big money game, one that is not forced and involves the banker's gamble and is won how it should be won.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comIt's fairly likely that there will be a season 5 because the ratings are still around 2 million which is very good for a 4.15 slot. And if it were to be dropped, what would channel 4 replace it with that could bring in just as many viewers? A double bill of Countdown?
xxxxx.as43234.netUrgh, another fake gambler. I hate people like this, advise people to no deal just so they can get better offers on their own game, how selfish? I would have dealt at £20,000 too, so well done Alfonso lol. I also hate the hypothetical swaps, they shouldn't do it. A for love week, I am enjoying it, but was disappointed with the lack of imagination, they had the same necklace thing, and the idea of dressing up in the 60's is cool, the boxes also look very nice and funky ;)
xxxxx.cable.ubr06.perr.blueyonder.co.ukin response 2 james's comment, i wish channel 4 would bring back 15 to 1 but i guess knowing them thats never going 2 happen :( anyway i wont spoil 2days game but given the 60s theme it was bizarre when just bfore the 2nd offer they played music from the 70s
xx.134.156.217Oh right i see well in that case there probably might be a season 5 after all although i highly doubt it will be as good as the first 2 seasons, they were the days back when they didn't have too many silly special shows and when the banker use to offer only money and swaps. Oh and that's when players use to decline offers of £30,000 £40,000 and even £50,000 with strong boards. By the way referring back to my first comment i got this wrong about who i thought was a bit of a no dealer it was actally Johnny i was talking about, i thought it was him who played my mistake although Alfonso did bail out too early to be honest. I would definatley go one with 3 of the power five still on the board.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comThe banker can offer two very different sums of money with the same board. It depends wether or not he wants to get rid of the player or make them carry on. I do think the forward offers and the bankers gamble etc etc add something more to the game. You cannot stand still these days.
xxxxx.manc.cable.ntl.comOnce again we have another coward today on DOND.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comOne of my very favourite players. Well deserved money won from this game :).
xxxxx.range86-161.btcentralplus.comYeah but she could have had a lot lot more if she had gone to the last 2 boxes. £15,000 with that board is not good enough. Even in today's game he didn't take the risk although he won and got a huge amount of money i wish he would have gone on and possibly get the quarter million. So far in love week no one has taken risks or gambled and for the first time this week we got told a future offer which i think would have been too much.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comOh wait a minute i just realised that anon was talking about alfons not claire loise. Sorry about that it's cuz his comment was on wednesday the day that she played sorry my mistake. He played a fair game i would say not a great game cuz he bailed out way too early.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comI just love endings like this.
