After the Banker looks inside Ellen's box, she is convinced he is bluffing with his offer and plays on. In a dramatic finish with lots of gameplay from the Banker, Ellen decides to go all the way and open her box.

Argh! This was the most forced big win ever! When the Banker found out that the player had £75,000 in their box, he offered appaulingly low offers to force her to the end and open her box. And the most farcical thing of all is that she only won £75,000 because she chose Scrooge, which is supposed to be the BAD choice. If the Banker carries on as he is, I'm going to stop watching after having remained loyal to the show since November 2005.

I always hope to see big winners but this one was annoying. I mean why the hell did he offer £5,000 when he knew there was 75k in there. I know his offers are low sometimes but not that low. He would normally offer around 15-20k in a normal game. I reckon this was fixed just to get viewers attention.

Also don't u think that £18,500 at 8 box was a liitle low. If this was season 2 or even season 3 around this time last year he would have offered at least 30k and around 20k at last 2 boxes.

The banker was playing mind games, making her think she had the 1p, put yourself in her shoes, 1p or £75,000 gamble, or guaranteed £5,000. We've seen this type of game go pear shaped many times, in my opinion it was a clever offer from the banker, but it didn't work lol.

I would deal at £5,000 because that is a lot of money. The £70,000 more is just a possibility, well do is losing out on £4,999.99 but three words do it for me: "Scale of regret" I would regret losing out on 5 grand and winning 1p as oppose to dealing and squandering the chance of £70,000 more. Just don't tell the banker ;) Maybe thats why I'd never make it on the show :P:P

Like the games of Keran and Julie (who also won £75,000), I was left feeling a bit sceptical. It was as if she'd known all along that the big money was in the box. There did not seem to be much thought going in to her no-deals. I'm a big fan of the show otherwise.

Fatima sorry to be rude but SHUT UP! I mean your never sceptical about 1p wins. Isn't it funny people complain that people don't carry on till the end, and atre damned for showing all their emotions and then comes along someone who goes for the big money and doesn't show many emotions (the perfect player to shut up these bloody cynics) and then you come to the conclusion its fixed. There's no winning with some people!"

what was the banker thinking. If he knew that the £75,000 was in her box and that she showed no signs of swaping why did he make such small offers to force her to play on. Maybe he decided to have a heart and go with the christmas spirit and have ine big christmas winner. Bet he wasn't prepared for lauren to empty his wallet even further and to a higher scale

I think that Santa vs Scrooge week is the best week ever in deal or no deal as it add a twist that means that people have more decisions to make and the mind games are very clever. The banker was really clever in this game because there were so many ways you could read it, I thought that she had the £75,000 and he was trying to get it for a low price, but I think many players would have swapped the box because the offers for her box after the discovery of scrooge on the christmas tree had been so low. I don't think it was very brave of Ellen but it was clever the way she didn't fall for the bluff. It was similiar to Louise's game at Christmas last year when he offered 11p for a 5,000 pound box and I was sure she would swap but she didn't. I love santa vs scrooge game, I do think the banker really does push the player to get to 5 box, but any other way this week on deal or no deal wouldn't be as fascinating I was surprised that the banker actually pushed the win of 100,000 by Lauren, but in the same way she said that 18,000 was so much money it was possible he could have got her out at 30,000 or 21,000 after she did say she really wanted to got to 5 box but after the 250,000 went he definetly could have got her out. I think the offer should have been 25,000 and she would have gone, 13,000 was just too low but in some ways he was forcing her to win the £750 and to decline 51,000 and go home with a blue would be a huge victory but an enormous risk., I just thought about scrooge vs santa week because I knew that the summer special was coming up, christmas is definetely better
