Les problem was that he was indulgent enough to believe 100k could come to the table 2 days in a row just like the 250k did.

I don't think Les was indulgent or greedy in any way. He was a great guy, brilliant with the advice, and he came here to play the game, which is exactly what he did, and what was so badly needed after the games that have gone before. I don't blame him at all for turning down that 25k, especially when he gave it quite some thought - and it's worth considering that almost exactly the same thing happened with Mavis a few weeks ago.

Noel thought that Les's rejection of 2.5k at 5-box was one of the bravest no deals ever, but without doubt his declination of 25k beats that by a country mile. In any case I thought Noel was exaggerating a bit. But in my view, a no deal that turns out to be wrong is only foolish if the offer was very good, but the contestant put little or no thought into it before turning it down. And that has happened before, albeit not for a long time. But, at the end of the day, DOND is a game of chance.

I also notice that Carol from the previous game was replaced by a contestant with exactly the same first name - I don't think that's ever happened before. Did Noel mention anything about Carol being replaced by Carol?

it seems as though nobody (except betty) is rewarded for showing a huge amount of courage like this. the last two offers of les and mavis's games could've been or should've been sooo much better, i don't blame them for turning them down and playing all the way.
