Synopsis:

An amazing show for Mary today. She gets off to a good start with her system and gets nice early offers, but then takes a hit in the 3rd round. She recovers well though, and then comes the amazing set of events at the end of the 5th round! While chatting with Noel about the £20,000 she reveals that she is going to deal, but when Noel asks her the question, she gets mixed up and says NO DEAL!! Noel is unsure what to do as the rules state he has to take her answer to the question! The Banker calls and says that it is his money and he will allow her to answer the question again... When Noel asks her the question for the 2nd time, Mary again says NO DEAL as she believes it was fate that she said it the first time! She then plays on and produces the perfect round and sets up a great finish, and then asks the Banker if he has the courage to offer the SWAP as she wants box 5! He does and the SWAP is made.

I can't believe what I just watched! I thought wow, she is gonna take 20,000 pounds, and was happy for her; shocked she declined it when Noel officially asked her the question, and only for her to say no deal AGAIN, as she was a believer in fate. FAB game, and thankfully she swapped ans has got £75,000! So happy for you Mary, hope you enjoy that and what a lovely thing you're gonna do with some of it. I wish her all possible success in the future. My god, still can't believe what I saw, although I detect some people may not agree with the second chance thing, perhaps?

Amazing game. The second chance thing wasn't that bad because she gave the same response anyway. If she'd said Deal then that would have turned it into a farce, as the first answer should always be accepted. Anyway, she's the fifth winner of £65,000+ in just three weeks, and the fourth winner of £75,000 this season. One minor note: this is the second consecutive show in which Noel has messed about with an offer. It's NOT exciting and it's VERY predictable!

What an incredible game i'm glad she won £75,000, I thought she would take the offer of £20k as well. God you should have seen my reaction when she said no deal and then didn't mean it and again when she tricked us all into no dealing.

Also and I don't mean to sound cruel or anything but don't you think those previous offers of £11,000, £3,000 and £13,000 were a little low. After 2nd round I expected it to be £16,000. 3rd round I wouldn't expect it to be that low just like Mary said even though she took the 1/4 miliion out she still had the other 4 biggest remaining, a fair offer would be £12,000 and at 8 box when it was a 50/50 board a decent offer would be £25-£30k. I remember when he offered Artack £28,000 who had a similar board

Contrary to "deal or no deal fan", i didn't like this game. Such a reckless player. Never even acknowledged she won 75K until after 5 mins. Fool! It's great to be back.

i cannot believe that she said no deal. When she said that she was going to deal, i thought that it would be over with an average, decent money win. however when she no dealt and then changed her mind and no dealt the second time i was completely in shock. She did excellently and i cannot believe that she of all the players went for the big money. The look on her face after the 10p was fabulous and she deserved every simgle penny after an entertaining shocking and surprising game. Top result Mary

One thing I actually disliked about the game, was the way people were alomost choosing Mary's boxes. She wanted to hold onto box 13, and then people say "You have to pick it sooner or later" ...only to find out, had she stuck with her own feelings, the £250,000 would have stayed LONGER. No matter, she won 75 grand ANYWAY =)

Did you also notice how she was praying for a blue prior to each box opening. Well done Mary, I know you wanted to stay longer but you gave us possibly the BEST ever game on Deal or no Deal.

Yeah i remember that DOND i hated that guy for saying to Mary not to change her mind, although most people say never change your mind it's her game and she could choose what boxes she wants so they shouldn't have advised or influenced her. Had she not picked box 13 the power five would still have been intact even at 8 box and got a great offer.

All integrity which the show held was thrown out of the window when the Banker gave Mary that 'second chance'.

This is without a doubt one of the best power five wins of DOND right from when I first started watching it. Its nice to see a brave, elderly contestant win big money and not to be so underestimated. I glad she didnt end up like Joy from season 3, that was horrible.

i agree with ur comment james, on most game shows i've seen, the rule is that the host does indeed have to take their first answer, (and although the host usually does realize that the player did misspeak, he tells them that he still has to accept their first answer.)

My wife and I had monitored DOND over the Christmas and NY period for Mary's game as she was such a character in the show. Unfortunately we missed it and have only just caught up with the lovely and dramatic conclusion via the download. She certainly believed in the power of fate; it helped generate some of the finest moments in reality TV ever. Surely a candidate for a prime time repeat along with a documentary about this most remarkable lady?
