Synopsis:

A highly entertaining show for Ruby today as she baffles, bewilders and bemuses Noel throughout the whole show. It's not a great start however, and it takes Ruby a while to build things back up and get into a decent position to get a nice offer from the Banker. When this happens at the end of the 4th round, it's enough to get Ruby out of the game, which then proves to be the perfect move in the end.

I hated this game. I think i've finally had enough of this show. Too much of a good thing? No. Too much of the same thing.

Well she did get on my nerves a bit, but Ruby is a lovely kind person and wanted to do something for her family rather than herself. That's very nobale and kind of her and her family will be proud of her. Although I would have gone on at £17,500 it can easily go the other way. It's a good thing the 100k went otherwise the Banker's Gamble would have been offered as he said. IS HE EVER GOING TO STOP IT.

I'm starting to think that the Banker has starting pitching his offers such that it would allow a possible Banker's Gamble at the end. In this game for example he offered £17,500 with the £75,000 and the £100,000 still in play. The Banker knew that if she took it, then all she would need to do is leave either the £75,000 or the £100,000 in play with a blue at the end and it would be a perfect Banker's Gamble situation. Indeed, if the last box of the last round hadn't been £100,000, even the Banker admitted he would have offered the Gamble.

With that in mind, it's possible to work out the odds of a Banker's Gamble at any offer in the game. For example, take the fifth offer in this game: £17,500. The Gamble would be offered with £100,000 and any blue. That's three possible combinations. There are seven other possible combinations which wouldn't produce a Banker's Gamble. Therefore if you deal, you know you have a 30% chance of getting the Banker's Gamble. As you can tell I'm a maths student.

well, one doesn't need to do any calculations to work out that the recession is not going to stop the banker offering his gamble... :(

Geez, the gamble isn't that bad, and in this case it wouldnt have been as £17,500 would normally be offered with a £100k-£1 climax anyway.

Yes usually the Banker offers around £20-£25k with a blue 100k climax, unless it was the 1p. Oh and Perry for the 1000th time it doesn't make any difference if that is what the offer would have been if Ruby had left the £100,000 to the end. It's still ruins the gameplay and just shows us that another boring player who isn't brave enought to No Deal six times has won one of the biggest prizes on the board. Remember what Noel use to say "If you No Deal six times, you can win the mega money". Nowadays he may as well say "If you Deal just for the sake of it and you're offered the Banker's Gamble and accept it you could be a mega winner"

Oh and Joe for the 1,001st time, you DON'T have to watch it then. I mean yeah we cant control sob stories, so we can say "I hated him/her crying" but if the BG is offered, switch off, thats what I do when I dislike something.

Sometimes I do switch off the TV if I know the B/G is going to be offered. I switched it off in Mel's game when she won the £50,000 or I should say she was forced £50,000. If anyone on this site is thinking of going on the show, then just Deal for the sake of it and hope you'll leave a big number to the end cuz you'll have a 50/50 chance of winning more.

deal or no deal is still better than the colour of money, though, isn't it?

Yes it is I agree with you on that. Deal or No Deal is probably the most interesting game of all nowadays. No one really watches Who Wants to Be a Millionaire anymore, All star Mr and Mrs is just dull and The Colour of Money isn't that good either. Goldenballs isn't too bad though there's no gimmicks in that, I just don't like the stealing.

The only gimmick in Golden Balls is when they invite players who chose Split but were stolen from to play again. It basically means that you may as well choose Split because you'll either win some money or be invited back, whereas if you Steal you'll either win money or not be invited back.
