It's the start of the Santa Vs. Scrooge specials today. Where if the contestant gets to the 5-box stage in active play they get the chance to choose a bauble from the Christmas tree. If they find Scrooge, the Banker gets to look at the contents of the contestants box, and play continues as normal. If they find Santa, they instantly win a holiday to somewhere, plus if they decide to play on they will receive an offer after EVERY box opened in the final round, and be guaranteed a SWAP as well. Sam if the first player to play the specials, and she gets off to a promising start, however her mid-game collapses. At the 5-box stage she does find a Santa, so instantly wins a holiday to Barcelona. She also decides to play on, and receives an offer after every box. After the 1st box of the final round, she receives an off of £1,500 which is declined, after the 2nd box she receives an offer of £1,650 which is also declined. She then decides to play all the way and open her box.

And so begins a week of Banker Gimmickry of the highest order.
xxxxx.as43234.netNice to see this site is back to normal, welcome back to the owners.
xxxxx.manc.cable.ntl.comThat second offer of £9,000 was rubbish, it should have been more like 20k with those big numbers still on the board.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comWell the Banker was evidently making sure that she went on to five-box. He'll be doing that in all of the Santa v Scrooge specials.
xxxxx.as43234.netAt last she mamaged to play her game in the end, 33 games is too much for a young girl like her. Just a shame she went home with a small amount!
xxxxx.range86-152.btcentralplus.comGod i didn't know she had been there for so long. If she had been there another game then she would have tied with brian and lucy for doing more than 33 shows. Must be really dissapointing waiting that long to go home with £5, but a least she won a holiday.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comLMAO James I got reminded of you when he offered £9,000 because I could clearly tell he pitched the offers low for her to do the santa scrooge stuff. I laughed but then was annoyed after.
xxxxx.cable.ubr06.perr.blueyonder.co.ukAlso got reminded of chris' low £8,000 offer, and he accepted it. WONDERFUL =)
xxxxx.cable.ubr06.perr.blueyonder.co.ukI do love it when the Banker's gimmickry backfires.
xxxxx.as43234.netu know wot gets me about games like this all these games the players who play more that 30 shows always win blues like lucy 50 shows a fiver brian 32 i think £100 but he did get a bonus but still now sam only a fiver she derserved alot more i liked her she had a great smile.
xxxxx.range86-144.btcentralplus.combrian did 34 shows, the most bsides lucy harington, yet noel didnt point this out. in fact these days he hardly states the number of shows any contestant has done. i wonder why? it may b useless information but he did do it quite regularly in the past
xx.134.193.243Just out of interest what is the least number of shows a contestant has done.
xxxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.comJoe Buddy i think its 11 correct me if im wrong votes. sorry if im rong joe sorry if i am.
xxxxx.range86-144.btcentralplus.comno need 2 b sorry trest. i believe a guy named garvan back in season 1 did just 9 shows
xx.134.193.243rele british leyland i dint know that but i did miss most of season i remember some eary games but did miss most of eason 1 sorry for the error and trhanks for understanding.
xxxxx.range86-144.btcentralplus.comNo Brian did 34 games and won 50p + a £3,000-ish bonus.
xxxxx.cable.ubr06.perr.blueyonder.co.ukwell i cant remember lol i know he won a bue though. see what i mean most players who are on long shows dont win much.
xxxxx.range86-144.btcentralplus.comI had a bad reception the day this was on and didn't get to see the second half of the game, and it's also not available on C4's catch-up web site for some reason, so seeing it here was a bit of a lifesaver!
xxxxx.dslgb.comHang on a minute no it's not 9 shows, I just remembered Lynn's game. I don't know if you guys will remember but she was the very first player on the very first DOND episode on 29th October 2005.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comShe only did one show on the first ever episode.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comOh yeah, I don't remember because I didn't watch it then but you have to think of it that way, the first ever player of DOND, its a priveldge and someone not so good at the same time. Its good as you are the FIRST player, thats pretty big. But only one show, you don't have much time to spend with your new mates on the wings though.
xxxxx.cable.ubr06.perr.blueyonder.co.ukwell technically lynn is indeed the contestant to have done the least number of shows (and the least possible) by virtue of being the 1st ever contestant, but i wouldn't really count her or the other 21 contestants from that 1st episode
