A very strong opening round for Stephen, and things just get better and better for him as the game progresses. He struggles over his 4th round offer of £25,000, and after some thought takes the deal. He still has a strong board and is punished in the proveout rounds when he keeps the big money in play all the way to the end.

WHAT THE HELL?! The board was far too good to deal at £25,000! I'd have definitely gone on. I'd have even declined £42,500 and definitely £150,000. That would have probably been the EASIEST QUARTER OF A MILLION EVER! But no, he just had to talk to the Banker. At least we now have a £20,000+ win.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comIt really is quite perplexing why UK contestants take rather low offers. I've seen DOND versions around the world and no other version has contestants look so timid. The average is over 60k at 8 boxes! It just seems to me that the contestant audition process is non-random and selects contestants where even 5k means too much to them which really is sort of cheating - a random selection would certainly improve the games as you would get mixture of brave and timid contestants rather than every single game being so boring.
xxxxx.dyn.iinet.net.auI agree! I'm not going to criticise the offer of 25,000 because the banker is a genius for getting a player to leave a board that strong with 25,000, It has to be one of the safest gambles ever, worst case scenario his offer couldn't be lower than 5,000(the chances must be astoundingly low) and two of the power five with 15,000 wouldn't be a bad round if 250,000 stayed, A deal or no deal player should have the confidence to decline 35,000 to 40,000 with that amazing board! I think Stephen is going to go down as one of deal or no deal's biggest coward!!
xx.242.101.73as regards season 6 i've only watched the start of the first game - but it looks like i'm not missing out on anything at all. it seems that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has changed from season 5 - more unspectacular games, more pointless mucking about and more poor deals. especially this one - which without question has to be up there with richard's and meena's among the worst deals ever. plus it seems it will never be realised in the dream factory that talking to the banker when still in live play is generally not a good idea
xx.134.132.197WOW the Banker managed to get a player to deal so cheaply when a couragous player would have the guts to turn down double that. So far season 6 has been the Banker's best one yet as he's saved nearly £500,000 if i'm right and it seems the players nowadays are even more cautious than ever. No way are we going to get another £250,000 if it carries on as it is. Guess I really haven't missed out on much really. Oh and my offers would've been £14,000, £20,000, £30,000, £48,000, £65,000 and £150,000.
xxxxx.bb.sky.comdid anyone else notice Rachel try not to laugh when the £250,000 was revealed in his box?
xxxxx.7-1.cable.virginmedia.comHas anyone noticed how passive the deal or no deal players are now? I think this is what encourages low deals, none of them ever say anything in terms of advice at key points
xx.242.108.65This series has been complete rubbish so far. We've had several players bottle out at clearly rubbish offers, a third offer deal, constant Banker ring backs and quite possibly the WORST DEAL of the series so far.
xxxxx.bb.sky.com£150,000 banker? When you offered Kirsty £125,000 in ACTIVE play when she had the same climax...and that was when you used to offer higher aswell. Not that it REALLY made a difference to the scale of the Banker's victory.
xxxxx.perr.cable.virginmedia.comI know what you mean Perry, it's funny when they're in live play the offers tend to be low but once they've dealt they're massively inflated.
xxxxx.1-1.cable.virginmedia.comKirsty's £125k offer in the early days was probably deliberately low to get her to gamble. £150k ought to be the standard for the £75k/£250k finish just as £170k is for the £100k/£250k finish.
xxxxx.7-2.cable.virginmedia.comThe caution of these players is something shocking, again today on Sunday player isn't prepared to risk any money and possibly win 100,000, this show should just be renamed deal
xx.242.107.152I would have definately dealt at £150,000 instantly! Morris from the early season probably wouldnt have though! He was offered £101,000 on a £20,000, £250,000 board and he stupidly declined it after showing us all his yellow teeth! Personally I dont find Morris courageous, he was just greedy and stupid!
xxxxx.7-1.cable.virginmedia.comI don't think Morris was stupid, in fact he was very brave. He genuinely beleived he was going to win £250,000 and therefore decided to take the risk. Turning down £101,000 to win £250,000 or £20,000 is a big gamble but it's the only way to win the Quater of a Million. Corinne did the same thing and in fact her's was an even bigger gamble than Morris's, as she would either walk away with £250,000 or 1p. Let that be a message to all the players in the east/west wing, if you want to win big, you've got to be prepared to take the risk. Your only in the chair once and you'll never get a chance to win a quater of a million again. So I say you should just go for it and whatever happens to just be happy at the end of the day, regardless of what you win.
xxxxx.1-1.cable.virginmedia.commethinks another irresponsible user has crept in... i don't think morris was greedy and stupid either, and that's an opinion that isn't going to change. and do we really need to know about the colour of his teeth??!? there have been genuinely greedy and stupid contestants, though - donna from 12 december 2006 being a prime example
xx.134.132.197(SPOILER)*sigh* Another boring Sunday game with yet another lame 4 figure deal. I would never have accepted £7,500 at that point. It would need to be at least £10,000 to get me out the chair. £22,000 I would've dealt, I would never risk that much to end up with 1p.
