Wow, I think this was a game where the banker didn't offer to bad. His offers were quite reasonable. Rita's game however...One word: PANTS

i am sick 2 the back teeth of these future offers now! if i was pondering over an offer and the banker phoned 2 say wot the offer would b if i went on and had this sort of round, i would pick the phone up and put it back down imediately, a bit like farmer clive did. i'd keep doing that up 2 the final offer, whether or not i dealt b4 hand

also, at any subsequent offer that isnt the final one, i would pick the phone up myself, tell the banker "just tell me wot u're offering at this moment in time" and then put the phone back down, in case he tried 2 slip in a future offer. then theres no way he would succeed in spoiling the game with them!

Well, let's be fair, maybe the banker is just trying to spruce the game up by throwing in future offers for a player's reaction. Recent games have been rather flat.

And Noel would never put the phone down on the banker (unless it was a joke), he won't shut up half the time himself.

This page says that Terry said No Deal to £22,000 and that he went to the end and won £500. What's going on here?

andrew, wot i meant was that i as the contestant would pick the phone up and either put it back down imediately or tell the banker to just give me the offer at present bfore putting it back down. i wouldnt let noel pick the phone up bcause 4 sure if the banker told him a future offer he wouldnt keep it a secret. i'd b pulling out all the stops 2 ensure that my game wouldnt b spoiled with future offers!

As if the situation couldn't get any worse... the Banker is now doing his future offer gimmicks AFTER the Deal and in the middle of post-deal rounds. The term 'clutching at straws' comes to mind. As for recent games being flat Andrew, it's BECAUSE of the future offers that they're flat (although admittedly some recent players have also been flat).

james, do u think it would work if a contestant decided he or she didnt want any future offers in his or her game, and had the guts 2 prevent the banker from getting them through using the method i suggested?

It would certainly make for an entertaining moment, and with luck it would put the Banker off ever using them again. Unfortunately, when he does use them, he makes the excuse that they're 'helping' the player decide whether to go on, so players tend to find them useful rather than annoying.

I reckon, they'd edited it out. I mean when the banker calls with offers, after the player has dealt; they may say "No way" and it gets edited about.. Maybe that too would get cut off ...

If you are so desperate to have an up-to-date version of this site, why don't you do one YOURSELVES and then you can stop moaning about this site. I suspect the people behind this site do a lot of other work also. Lee is in the DOND history books as the first (and probably only person) to win NOTHING. Will he still be eligible for the 1p barge trip though ?

Knowing the Banker and his recent obsession with gimmicks, there's probably going to be many more 'Raise the Stakes' offers in the near future. And I think the people who run this site have given up.
